Deprecation of Java 11 Support in Gateways
- Effective Date: February 2026
- Announcement Date: September 2025
All Gateway types (Classic, NextGen, and Windows) up to version 20.0 (planned release: end of September 2025) will continue to use Java 11 as the default runtime. Since Java 11 has reached End of Life (EOL), Gateways will transition to Java 17 starting with v21.0. There is no immediate functionality impact when using Java 11 in v20.0, but you should prepare for this upcoming change.
Migration Support:
- Gateway v20.0 will bundle both Java 11 and Java 17 (Java 17 is not enabled by default), allowing you to migrate in advance.
- For Windows Gateway, there is no Java migration strategy. Starting with version 21.0, only Java 17 will be available by default.
- Refer to the instructions in the Gateway Java migration: Java 11 to Java 17 page for Classic and NextGen Gateways.
Upcoming Change (Gateway v21.0.0):
Starting with Gateway version 21.0.0 (planned release: February 2026):
- Java 17 will become the default runtime.
- Java 11 will no longer be available.
Deprecation of Reconnect Tunnel in Collector Profiles
- Effective Date: February 2026
- Announcement Date: September 2025
The Reconnect Tunnel option in the Collector Profiles screen will be deprecated as the platform now automatically manages all agent and gateway connections.
When new connection nodes are added or removed, the platform restarts the service, allowing your collectors to automatically retrieve the updated connection details and reconnect via API calls. The system no longer requires manual intervention.
You don’t need to take any action. The platform automatically manages all connection details, ensuring seamless and uninterrupted connectivity for your collectors.
